I have been dealing with this school for two years. The staff are extremly toxic and difficult and care very little about the student. The Financial Aid Department is probably the worse for toxic and poorly trained staff. It would almost seem they make it up as they go along. They claim they follow policys and procedures but when you look up the policies and procedures there are none nor will they provide you with a copy of one to support their claims. Becky Jonasson is one in particular to watch out for. She is extremly rude, unproffesional, and poorly educated on how to fullfil her position with Athabasca University. And if you get on her bad side she will make false statements to the governing student loan body in attempts to both cause issues and delay funding. Becky Jonasson should be terminated from her position. All branches of government I have spoken to who she interacts with agree she is rude, dissmissive and doesn't seem to know what she is doing. How does the school employ such incompetent toxic people? Do they not offer training? This is probably the only reason I would say run from this school as fast as you can it's administrative staff and governance is a joke. Seriouse question who runs the circus known as Athabasca University and why on earth does the government fund them?????

This university does not care about the students. They only care about the money rolling in. Their employees call students horrible names and put them down any chance they get. For people that have disabilities, they could care less. They don't talk to the student as a person, they will not help you if you are on student loans and they cancel everything on a student to make themselves look better.
