I graduated in 2016 when the film industry in Vancouver was booming. There were plenty of jobs waiting for me when I graduated from CapU on local and international productions. The education was pretty well-rounded and helped me become a better filmmaker....

I graduated in 2016 when the film industry in Vancouver was booming. There were plenty of jobs waiting for me when I graduated from CapU on local and international productions. The education was pretty well-rounded and helped me become a better filmmaker. Class sizes were small and taught by top-notch faculty. I would recommend my program to anyone who is serious about a career in this industry.

Admission standards could be higher. Basically, you're in if you have the money. The problem is this led to classes full of young students who didn't take the course material seriously enough. As a mature student, I wanted people who were going to push me...

Admission standards could be higher. Basically, you're in if you have the money. The problem is this led to classes full of young students who didn't take the course material seriously enough. As a mature student, I wanted people who were going to push me, but I didn't get that. Profs are mostly good, with industry experience and some connections you will benefit from as a student on the film production side. Overall, I'd give my experience an "average" grade. If you want to get into writing or directing, many people should consider and English degree from a reputable university plus on-the-job experience.
