This was an intense experience (in a good way). It covered data foundations, wrangling, SQL, Python, Machine Learning, visualization, etc. in a really engaging way. Instructors were experts in their fields but also passionate about teaching. Great culture and vibe that comes down from the top. Career support still has a few wrinkles to work out but they were super helpful in the end and I did get a great job offer in the auto industry working on data, making a much better salary than I earned before.

I graduated in 2019 from the web dev bootcamp. At Lighthouse Labs, you get exceptional career support that actively bridges the gap between candidates and employers. Louisa and Lulwa's commitment to their job is remarkable, and I owe them for helping me land my current job.
Most mentors are excellent, especially Karl, who isn't a mentor but was encouraging and engaging. Additionally, Tim, Mikias, Vasily, Rafal, James, Justin, Michael, Will, and Zola were patient and taught me the fundamentals and complexities of web development beyond the coursework when I had terrible questions.
Coursework is superb and covers essential and advanced topics extensively. The technical interviews were practical, and the focus was primarily on hands-on training instead of reading lengthy documentation.
Students have access to the facility 24/7, allowing them to work on their schedule.
My biggest complaint is that the React lessons were subpar, but I know from current students that this has been overhauled. I did find myself using free online resources, with instructor guidance, to get through this section on my own.
Overall, I highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone seriously considering a career change. While the 93% employment rate is impressive, it's not a guarantee. The bootcamp provides students with ample resources, but it's up to the individual to create their own success. I suggest testing a course online first to determine if the workload is manageable and you like the material before applying.
FAQ
-
Which should I take: the Intro course or the Bootcamp?
Ask yourself: ""Do I want to work as a professional developer?"" If the answer is 'yes', then there is no question that the full-time or flex web development bootcamp is the program you need. The goal of our bootcamp is to transform you into a professional full-stack developer. You’ll come to understand coding logic, and learn how to think like a dev by building software from the ground up using industry-relevant technologies. Our program will provide you with mentorship, data-driven curriculum and a top-notch learning environment that will launch you into your first junior developer role. If the answer is 'not sure', taking our part-time course might be the best option.
-
Who should take part-time intro courses?
Our Intro to Web Development and Front End Fundamentals with JavaScript courses are excellent for people interested in learning how to code; people interested in learning how to communicate with a development team; people looking to gain career skills to help in a hybrid role; and people interested in learning if they enjoy development before taking our Bootcamp
