Detail oriented, organized, and excellent communicators, Bookkeepers are responsible for ensuring an organization’s accounts are in order. Designed to provide a solid foundation in accounting/bookkeeping, this group of courses offers the knowledge to effectively manage the finances in your own small business, bookkeeping practice or other ventures.
Begin by exploring the basics of bookkeeping including: journals, ledgers, worksheets, and financial statements. You will then move on to develop additional skills such as business transactions, inventory valuation, special journals, payroll, receivables, and bank reconciliations. By the final course you will have developed advanced bookkeeping skills including: partnerships, corporations, capital assets, bonds, and financial analysis.
After completing the three levels of Accounting – Bookkeeping, students can progress to the Integrated Accounting Certificate to develop computerized accounting software skills.
Courses include:
- Accounting – Bookkeeping 1: Explore the basics of bookkeeping including: journals, ledgers, worksheets, and financial statements.
- Accounting – Bookkeeping 2: Develop additional skills with emphasis on merchandise business transactions, inventory valuation, special journals, internal control, payroll, receivables, and bank reconciliations.
- Accounting – Bookkeeping 3: Further enhance your bookkeeping skills. Topics include partnerships, corporations, capital assets, bonds, and financial analysis.
