The Hospitality Skills program is crafted as a platform for you to develop the skills required to match the industry’s demand for qualified entry-level employees. In one year (two semesters), this program will set you up to master and apply a variety of practical skills and theoretical knowledge that will allow you the opportunity to work within the hospitality sector.

Your employability will be increased through valuable certifications such as Safe Food Handlers, Smart Serve, first aid/CPR and It’s Your Shift training.

It’s Your Shift certification will equip you with crucial knowledge and provide current resources focused on sexual harassment prevention and safe practices for intervention as a frontline worker or manager. It will support you, as you enter the hospitality industry, to become a leader for the prevention of sexual harassment and contribute to the evolution of safe and welcoming work environments.

What You’ll Learn

  • Provide hospitality service in a professional manner in order to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and describe the various sectors of the Canadian tourism industry.
  • Use basic mathematic and monetary calculations to assist with the daily functions of a hospitality operation.
  • Assist in the marketing and sales of small and medium sized hospitality operation.
  • Identify and comply with health and safety regulations, legislation, and procedures related to the hospitality industry.
  • Plan and implement personal and professional development strategies related to the hospitality industry.
  • Use current technologies, systems, and computer applications to support daily functions of a hospitality operation.
  • Perform as an entry-level accommodation operations team member in both front and back of the house positions.
  • Perform as an entry-level food and beverage team member in both front and back of the house positions.

For me it's one of the best colleges, progress avenue is is soo good from inside and it's so clean and disciplined. Atmosphere is so calm and peaceful that I mostly prefer to do my assignments in college Library. Gym is also good.
