Durham College’s Project Management – Information Technology graduate certificate prepares students to lead complex technology initiatives by combining advanced IT knowledge with modern project management practices. The program introduces learners to key methodologies and emerging technologies shaping today’s digital landscape, including Agile practices, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, privacy management, and DevOps. Through practical learning and applied projects, students develop the skills required to manage IT projects effectively while adapting to the rapid pace of technological change.
Students gain hands-on experience working with IT projects, programs, and policies while strengthening their ability to address cybersecurity challenges, protect digital infrastructure, and ensure compliance with international standards. The curriculum also explores emerging areas such as machine learning, data analytics, and cloud computing, preparing graduates to manage complex technology initiatives while balancing innovation, security, and regulatory requirements. Participants receive student membership with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the PMI Durham Highlands Chapter, supporting valuable professional networking opportunities. The program also provides the theoretical knowledge and professional development units needed to pursue recognized certifications such as CAPM, PMP, and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
