Humber’s Bachelor of Music degree program offers a unique and comprehensive four-year education that blends performance, songwriting, and composition with music production, recording technology, and business strategy. Students gain hands-on experience across genres such as jazz, pop, R&B, Latin, and world music, while learning from some of Canada’s top musicians and industry professionals. Located in Toronto—Canada’s entertainment hub—Humber provides unmatched access to the country’s vibrant music scene.
Through private lessons, ensemble work, and classes in theory, ear training, improvisation, history, and production, students build strong musicianship and artistic identity. In later years, the program expands to include electives in areas such as film scoring, advanced improvisation, pedagogy, and ethnomusicology. A third-year recital and a fourth-year major recording project help students develop a professional portfolio that includes a press kit and high-quality recordings, preparing them for a successful career in today’s diverse music industry.
