Private Pilot Licence

Canada Aviation Academy’s Private Pilot Licence (PPL) program will prepare students to fly independently and to start their careers as a professional pilots.

Included in the PPL program are forty-five hours of flight time, seventeen hours of dual flight instruction, twelve hours of sole flight practice, ten hours of ground briefing, and ground school.

A PPL applicant must attend a minimum of 40 hours of approved ground school. This course consists of a series of lectures aimed at fully preparing the student for not only the required Transport Canada examinations but also a safe and satisfying time in the world of aviation. The subjects dealt with in the ground school include Air Law, Aeronautics, Navigation, meteorology, etc. Individual instruction will be given as required. A home study course is available with individual tutoring.
