Secrets of Better Photography will teach students how to capture outstanding images. Whether using a DSLR, a point-and-shoot camera, or a smartphone, students will learn how to maximize their camera’s potential. This hands-on course will guide students in selecting the right photographic equipment and composing images with style.
By mastering concepts like lighting, motion, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings, students will confidently move their cameras out of auto mode. The course also covers various photography topics, including portraiture, children’s photography, pet photography, and digital editing. Each lesson includes exercises and assignments, allowing students to apply what they’ve learned to their own photography. By the end of the course, students will notice a significant improvement in both their photographic perspective and the quality of their images.

After attending Brock University for four years and graduating from the Business Communications program I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do next. We had a spokesperson from Niagara College come into our 4th year class to tell us about the Public Relations post-grad degree. I was turned onto the fact it was a one-year program that had a co-op/field placement to get real work experience in the field.
I enrolled in the program and it was extremely beneficial to my professional development. In university I learned a lot of theoretical and writing skills, but lacked a lot of hands-on experience. Niagara College got right into the meat of it and exposed me to a lot of things I never learned in university. We had courses that taught us how to use Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, how to develop a basic website, writing for social media/PR and much more.
Overall I was extremely satisfied with my experience and I ended up landing a full-time job at the place I did my work placement at. Several years later I've moved along well in my career in a large part thanks to Niagara College's PR program.
