As a former marketing executive and instructor at the Humber School of Media Studies, Robert has always had one foot in industry and another in education. Robert founded CourseCompare.ca to empower people to become lifelong learners and help them identify and pursue the skills needed to succeed in a fast-changing economy.

Robert has advised more than 50 startups and global brands across a range of industries, including tech, finance, real estate and education. His writing and commentary about higher education, technology and careers has appeared in Global News, the Toronto Star, The National Observer, MoneySense, University Affairs, Strategy Magazine, The Logic and dozens of other leading publications across Canada and the United States.

Kerri-Lynn (KL) has over a decade of experience building online marketplaces, and she’s passionate about helping Canadians make better purchase decisions by gaining access to qualified information. She was a founding team member of Ratehub, Canada’s leading financial product comparison website, and currently runs Pawzy, which connects modern pet parents to health advice and services. A graduate of the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, Kerri-Lynn brings her digital marketing and marketplace expertise to CourseCompare as its Fractional CMO.

James Zhao

James Zhao

Paid Acquisition Manager

James is a digital marketing expert with a passion for helping businesses grow online. He is currently the Paid Acquisition Manager for CourseCompare, where he oversees the strategy and execution of all paid channels, including Google Ads and Meta Ads. He has over five years of experience in digital advertising and paid acquisition working with global brands such as L’Oreal and Turo. James is the Founder of No Growth, a digital agency that specializes in e-commerce and startup marketing.

Student Recruitment Manager

As Student Recruitment Manager at CourseCompare, Amanda helps thousands of people each year plan their learning journeys and lead more fulfilling careers. She was previously a policy analyst at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, and Community Engagement Manager at Ratehub, where she led youth-focused workshops on financial literacy. Amanda holds a bachelor’s in history and economics from the University of Toronto and master’s in economics from Carleton University.

Megan is an advertising professional with more than a decade’s experience managing diverse projects and teams. She has worked on integrated marketing initiatives with BBDO, The Ontario Ministry of Health & Long Term Care, and Rogers Communications. At CourseCompare, Megan is responsible for managing an international network of education partners.

Her work experience includes human resources, customer service and academic advising, as well as teaching at Fanshawe College, where she was a part-time professor teaching topics in business, finance and administration.

Shane Schick tells stories that help people innovate and manage the change innovation brings. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of Marketing Magazine and B2B News Network. He is also the former Vice-President, Content & Community (Editor-in-Chief) at IT World Canada, a former technology columnist with the Globe and Mail and Yahoo Canada, and was the founding editor of ITBusiness.ca.
