Early Childhood Education (Online)

Students in Loyalist College’s Early Childhood Education (Online) program can kickstart their career in early childhood education with online learning and hands-on practicum experiences in their local region. Through holistic care, learners nurture young children’s growth, learning and well-being while supporting their families and the community.

Learners have the convenience of interactive learning without the need for in-class attendance, while applying their knowledge in real-world settings through practicum placements arranged in their local Ontario community. The program focuses on designing and implementing curricula that address the diverse learning needs of children at various stages of development, in different environments. Emphasizing inclusive practices, family partnerships, multiple intelligences, and evidence-informed approaches, the program provides a comprehensive foundation for working with children. Students will gain valuable experience in community early learning programs catering to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children, and complete exams and assessments via the Learning Management System (LMS) and video conferencing.
