Computer Systems Technology

​Vancouver Community College’s Computer Systems Technology program is a two-year diploma designed to equip students with practical skills in software development, network administration, and systems analysis. The curriculum focuses on hands-on learning, preparing graduates for immediate entry into the technology workforce.

In the first year students complete the foundational/core courses. In the second year students take advanced software development, web, mobile, and Windows PC specialized courses. In the last term, students focus on developing an industry-scale Portfolio/Capstone project as a team.

The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for coding and problem-solving. They must possess logical and critical thinking skills, enabling them to approach challenges efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of working long hours on computers, maintaining focus and productivity throughout extended periods of work.

Admission Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• English 12 with a minimum ‘C’ grade, or equivalent.​
• Pre-Calculus 11 with a minimum ‘C’ grade, or equivalent.
