The University of Toronto’s Master of Education in Language and Literacies Education program lets students investigate the questions around how literacies in languages and language in literacies in various communities, societies, and settings impact learners.
Offered as both a full-time and part-time program, learners can opt for the approach that best suits them and their skillset, as they explore the use of non-native languages in curriculum, and how the development of bi or multi-lingual students is shaped differently. Learners will explore the pedagogical implications of language and literacy being such an integral part of learning, and how social justice issues related to multi-language speakers can be examined properly yet carefully.
