Eastern College’s Criminology program prepares students to support and strengthen Canada’s correctional and criminal justice systems through a comprehensive study of crime, law enforcement, and rehabilitation. Over 69 weeks, students explore criminology through an integrated approach that combines psychology, sociology, and criminal justice theory with practical, hands-on learning, building a strong understanding of correctional philosophy, institutional operations, and offender rehabilitation.
Taught by experienced industry professionals, the program equips graduates with practical skills, industry-standard certifications, and real-world insight valued by employers. Through seminars, workshops, and strong community connections, students gain valuable exposure to the field while receiving dedicated career support to help transition into meaningful roles such as correctional services, policing, and client support, or to pursue further education within the criminal justice field.
The program is available in both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. In Halifax, classes are offered on-campus, while in New Brunswick, students can study online through instructor-led sessions with the added support of campus locations in Moncton, Fredericton, and Saint John.
A 6-week internship option is available.

What impressed me most was the school’s focus on practical application and critical thinking. They constantly encouraged us to step outside the theoretical and apply what we learned. It definitely shaped how I approach problem-solving now.
