Université de Sherbrooke’s Bachelor of Social Work program offers a practice-oriented education designed to prepare students for competent, ethical, and effective social work intervention. From the first session, students engage in internships alongside academic coursework, ensuring continuous integration of theory and practice. This experiential approach allows learners to develop and refine their skills through simulations, case studies, role-playing, interviews, and supervised field experiences, all aimed at improving the well-being and living conditions of individuals, families, groups, and communities.
Structured progressively, the program equips students to respond to diverse and evolving social realities while mastering the full intervention process. Emphasis is placed on applying knowledge in real and simulated contexts to quickly identify and address complex social challenges. Recognized by both the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ) and the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE), the program enables graduates to pursue professional registration in Quebec and enhances mobility across Canada, supporting successful integration into a wide range of social work practice settings.
