QC Pet Studies’ Professional Dog Grooming certification course is designed to prepare aspiring groomers for a successful and hands-on career working with dogs of all breeds and coat types. Through a comprehensive online curriculum, students learn everything from canine anatomy and behavior to bathing, brushing, clipping, and advanced styling techniques. The program also includes essential dog first aid training and business fundamentals, helping students build both technical expertise and professional confidence.

Students receive step-by-step instruction through video tutorials, reading materials, and practical grooming assignments completed on real dogs, with personalized feedback provided by experienced professional groomers. A professional grooming tool kit is included to support hands-on learning and skill development from home. The course is structured into five key training areas, and students can choose between a fully online learning track or an externship option for real-world salon experience. Upon completion, graduates earn the International Dog Grooming Professional (IDGP) designation, demonstrating their readiness to deliver safe, high-quality grooming services and launch their careers in the pet care industry.

No previous experience is required to enroll in QC Pet Studies’ Dog Grooming course, as it is designed to be beginner-friendly and teaches everything from foundational grooming skills to advanced styling techniques. Students develop practical, industry-relevant knowledge and confidence to pursue a career in a grooming salon or start their own business after graduation. With flexible, self-paced learning, most students can complete their training in under six months, while having up to a full year to finish the program if needed.

  • Perform breed-specific cuts and advanced styling for different coat types.

I'm at the last section of my grooming course and I couldn't be happier with QC Pet Studies and all their wonderful team. They really do all in their hands to make us professional groomers regardless the limitations of a online platform. The information, videos and webinars provided give us all the knowledge we need and the practice videos with the tutor feedback give us the opportunity to improve our skills and to learn from our own mistakes. They know well what they are doing and they put their hearts into it to make us as successful as possible. I really appreciate all they do and each of the team members, especially my fantastic tutor: Lisa Day, she is the best at finding all the mistakes I do to teach me properly but also she is great at praising me when I do well to raise my confidence.
I am very excited with my new career and immensely grateful to have found the perfect online school with QC Pet Studies :)

Decided to hop on a webinar on Concept Training. What an adventure and delight. Susan illustrates her passion and talents while showing us how to engage with our furry companions in an interactive, fun, and creative way. We learn how to achieve the desired result from our (dog) by asking them to complete a task/ command , while making the experience fun for both trainer and companion. Who doesn’t want to have fun!! 🤗👍
