QC Pet Studies’ Dog Training certification course is designed for aspiring professionals who want to build a rewarding career in the fast-growing dog training industry. Through a flexible, self-paced online format, students learn science-backed, professional training methods that can be applied in real-world settings, whether working in a training facility, offering private lessons, or launching their own dog training business. The program is structured to guide beginners through essential concepts while building the confidence and skills needed to train dogs safely and effectively.
Throughout the course, students receive personalized mentorship and audio feedback from experienced dog training professionals, ensuring consistent support as they develop hands-on skills from home. The curriculum also includes guidance on teaching clients, applying training principles, and understanding canine behavior, along with business training to help students establish and grow their services. Upon completion, graduates earn the International Dog Training Professional (IDTP) certification, demonstrating their ability to deliver professional, effective, and ethical dog training services in a variety of career paths.
No prior professional experience is required to enroll in QC’s Dog Trainer course, as it is designed to teach all essential skills from the ground up. Students learn science-based training methods, canine behaviour, and humane techniques for effectively teaching dogs, with personal experience having dogs being helpful but not necessary. With flexible, self-paced learning, students can complete the course and begin working with clients in as little as three months, or take up to a full year to finish their studies.
What You’ll Learn
- Apply science-backed dog training methods to real-life situations.
- Understand canine behaviour and how to teach effective obedience skills.
- Learn how to train both dogs and educate their owners for better results.
- Build and launch a professional dog training business or service.

I did their grooming course and loved it. I learned so much and found I was able to incorporate it all into starting my own grooming buisness. Courses were easy to follow and I loved the practicals as they really showed me where I could improve.
