Animation for UI Designers

The Animation for UI Designers course is for those looking to gain the skills required to bring digital products to life with functional, interactive animation.

The course is suitable for those who already know their way around UI design. For those who have been employed as a UI designer, either in-house or as a freelancer, or who have enrolled in CareerFoundry’s UI Design Program and completed the UI Immersion Course (or an equivalent external course). To become a successful UI animator, strong attention to detail is needed, as well as some patience, imagination, presentation, and storytelling skills. Learners also need to be familiar with design software (Sketch or Adobe XD).

Students will explore everything in the world of UI animation, from technical skills and tools required to be a UI animator, to non-technical skills for communication and collaboration, to the accessibility and ethical considerations of using animation responsibly and inclusively. Students will learn how to storyboard and tell narratives with their animation, how real-life projects work, and how to apply advanced Adobe After Effects techniques for eye-popping UI animation. By the end of the course, students will master the theory behind functional, interactive animation, and have the real-world, technical skills you’ll need.

With the combined knowledge of UI design and animation, graduates will know how to please and effectively communicate to their users through every screen they design—and a portfolio to prove it.

Requirements: Experience with UI design (wireframes, prototypes, and UI principles).
