The Python for Web Developers Course is for those who want to learn about Python programming and gain a basic to intermediate competency level with the Python-based Django web framework.
The course is suitable for those who already have competency in front-end and back-end web development. For those who have been employed as a web developer for some time, either in-house or as a freelancer, or who have enrolled in the Full-Stack Web Development Program and completed CareerFoundry’s Full-Stack Immersion Course (or an equivalent external course). To successfully complete this course, students need to be familiar with tools and technologies such as Visual Studio Code (or any other code editor), Google Chrome (or your preferred browser), Git and GitHub, and Heroku.
In this course, students learn Python programming fundamentals, data structures, object-oriented programming, working with databases, and object-relational mapping. Once learners have a good understanding of programming with Python, they will move one step further to use one of Python’s most powerful web frameworks, Django. Students will learn to develop web applications the Django way, by working with models, views, and templates. After learning some key additional features—such as user authentication and data visualization—learners complete the course by deploying a live recipe web app that can be shared with friends, colleagues, and future employers.
Requirements: Students need to be familiar with tools and technologies such as Visual Studio Code (or any other code editor), Google Chrome (or your preferred browser), Git and GitHub, and Heroku.
Note that this course is not eligible for CareerFoundry’s Job Guarantee.
