Demand for health and wellness products and services is projected to rise in Canada, accompanied by a demand for skilled nutrition, health, and wellness professionals. McMaster’s Nutrition, Health, and Wellness online program offers the knowledge and tools to succeed in this rewarding field.

Students will explore health and wellness in the workplace, nutrition fundamentals, fitness and healthy living, nutrition for the various life cycle stages, and healthy aging in retirement community residences. They will gain the in-demand skills to succeed as a health and wellness professional. Students will earn a certificate of professional learning upon completing three of the five courses: Nutritional Fundamentals, Nutrition, Fitness and Healthy Living, Nutrition for the Lifecycle, Wellness in the Workplace, and Healthy Aging; Health, Wellness and Nutrition.

What You’ll Learn
• Identify key nutrients, how they work in the body, and nutritional needs throughout the human life cycle.
• Describe the role of foods and nutrients in energy balance, weight control, and physical activity.
• Understand wellness’s physical, mental, social, environmental, financial, and occupational aspects.
• Analyze health and wellness program plans to support a healthy lifestyle.
• Explain how appropriate physical activity, fitness, and active living strategies and programs impact personal and community well-being.
• Examine the social, cultural, economic, physical, and behavioural factors for health and wellness program planning and development activity, fitness, and active living strategies and programs that impact personal and community well-being.

Instructors are very helpful and the exercises and group work aren't "make work" but instead help reinforce the key lessons. I would recommend improving the web portal experience, which was inconsistent at times with information like due dates and topic titles.
