UBC Sauder School of Business’s Certified ScrumMaster 2-day Live Online course offers an intensive, highly interactive introduction to the principles and practices of Agile and the Scrum framework using a Scrum Lego City simulation. This simulation provides vivid and memorable experiences that tightly mirror new team experiences when adopting Scrum in real life.
Students will secure the knowledge needed to write the Certified ScrumMaster exam. Participants receive the Certified ScrumMaster credential from the Scrum Alliance upon completion of the course and passing an online exam, as required by the Scrum Alliance. Participants will have two attempts or 90 days after they receive their welcome email to pass the test at no additional cost. The initial exam fee and a two-year Scrum Alliance membership fee are included as part of the course fee.
What You’ll Learn
- Define the Scrum roles, ceremonies, and artefacts and how they work together.
- Describe each Scrum role, what they manage, and how they are measured.
- Create a Definition of Done for an agile team.
- Participate in each Scrum ceremony/meeting while building a real product.
- Identify how the Scrum Master guides the team to continuously improve and apply these techniques with your agile team.

There was a balance between advanced business theories and classes, and technical skills such as analytics and programming. The latter of which I personally found to be
quite difficult, but rewarding if you put the time in to learn.
By far, the best part of the program was the people. Everyone accepted was professional, nice, and smart. These are people who want you to succeed just as much as they want to succeed themselves.
The school's career centre was an invaluable resource to help with applications and conducting mock interviews so we knew what to expect when entering the job market.
Be prepared for an (at times) overwhelming workload though. Your social life will take a significant hit when class starts.
Great community

Sauder gets 5-stars from me. Great international faculty and a strong community of business professionals. My firm covered the costs of the change management program but I would have happily paid for it myself.
