Effective communication is key to success in the world today. In bilingual Canada, and in many other parts of the world, speaking French gives you access to career and travel opportunities you might not otherwise have, and a greater ability to experience and understand Francophone culture.
The UBC Certificate in French Language and Culture will help you expand your French language skills and prepare for study, travel or doing business at home and throughout the French-speaking world.
Delivered part time at UBC Robson Square and the UBC Vancouver campus, with some courses available online, the program requires completion of minimum of five French language courses and a final project. Applications accepted on an ongoing basis
What You’ll Learn
- After this program you can expect to achieve language proficiency at a level equivalent to B2 of the Council of Europe’s Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
- Provides the opportunity to learn the specialized French needed in your area of expertise and to understand the different cultural backgrounds of the countries where French is spoken.
