The American University of Antigua Associate of Science (AS) in Health Sciences program is a two-year pathway designed to provide students with the college-level coursework commonly required for admission to many U.S. and Canadian medical schools, including the university’s College of Medicine, within just four semesters. Delivered on the island of Antigua, the program combines a strong academic foundation with an emphasis on critical thinking, preparing students for advanced study in medicine and other health-related professions. In addition to core science courses, students complete a broad general education curriculum in the humanities, mathematics, sciences, and social sciences to support a well-rounded academic experience.

The program is intended primarily for students pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, physician assistant studies, and other health science fields. Students enrolled in the program are automatically placed in the Fast Track to Medical School option, which allows qualified graduates who meet the required GPA and admissions criteria to apply directly to the American University of Antigua College of Medicine MD program. The curriculum also provides flexibility for students wishing to transfer credits to other institutions while building a strong academic foundation for future professional and scientific studies.

Admission Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 2.8.
  • English, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry courses are required. A Physics course is not required but is encouraged.
