Crossroads Truck Training Academy offers a comprehensive 4-week Straight Truck Training (DZ) course designed to prepare students for a successful career in the commercial vehicle industry. This program combines classroom instruction and hands-on training, with the first two weeks focused on essential theory and regulatory knowledge, including employment opportunities in the industry, vehicle components and systems, basic and professional driving techniques, off-road tasks and maneuvers, and the documentation required for commercial driving. Students also receive thorough instruction in vehicle inspection, hours of service compliance, cargo securement, emergency handling, and earn their Z endorsement for air brakes. The final two weeks are dedicated to practical skills development, featuring advanced heavy transmission training in week three, followed by straight truck driving experience in week four.
With a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and real-world readiness, Crossroads equips students with the tools and confidence they need to begin a career as a DZ-licensed driver.

I believed I was alone in my horrible experience at Cross Roads Trucking. One day out from MTO road test, and school cancels my road test. Staying I had taken 4 days off, arrived late for every class, and left early. All fabricated. I met a woman just now hauling for a local flat bed co. She also expressed how horrid her experience was at Cross Roads, 5 years ago. They would not give her the full 103 hours of training. She had to fight to graduate. Only 5 hours behind the wheel. I believe her. Now what to do? Do I contact the ministry? It a full year till she was licensed. There’s only 1 competent yard/cab trainer. And he’s not in Ottawa.
