Southwest Fire Academy offers an intensive, blended Firefighter Pre-Service training program that combines self-directed online learning with a 20-day immersive bootcamp designed to deliver a true, real-world firefighter experience.

The majority of theoretical learning is completed independently through structured online modules prior to attending bootcamp. This approach allows students to arrive prepared and ready to focus on hands-on, practical skill development during the in-person portion of the program.

During the 20-day bootcamp, students live and train on campus in a firehouse-style environment, gaining firsthand experience in what it means to work as part of a fire service team. Training is rigorous and skills-focused, emphasizing practical application, discipline, and teamwork.

This blended model ensures students build strong, job-ready skills and graduate well-prepared for the physical, mental, and operational demands of a career in the fire service.

Students who successfully complete this course will write the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) Accreditation Exams, earning internationally recognized IFSAC seals.

Knowledgeable instructors with a wide range of experience. The school sets a difficult pace and high expectations to ensure that you are well prepared for OFM testing. If you want to be a fire fighter this is the school that will get you there.

I had a great experience at SFA, the 14 day boot camp is run and lead but some of the best instructors. I couldn’t have been happier with the experience! Will definitely be back!
