This intensive, hands-on course provides the foundational knowledge required to effectively use AutoCAD for 2D drafting. Students build practical skills in navigating the user interface, accessing commands, and managing files while learning essential CAD concepts. The course emphasizes drawing setup, viewing controls, layers, templates, and CAD standards to ensure organized and efficient workflows. Participants are expected to have basic computer proficiency and a foundational understanding of technical drawing principles.
Through guided practice, students create and edit 2D working drawings using Draw and Modify commands, apply accurate construction techniques, and verify precision with inquiry tools. They also develop skills in adding text, dimensions, hatching, and blocks; setting up layouts with viewports and scales; and preparing drawings for printing or plotting. By the end of the course, learners are equipped to produce professional-quality 2D drawings with accuracy and consistency.
