The Business Administration Diploma with a major in Insurance and Risk Management at Bow Valley College provides students with essential business knowledge, including risk assessment, insurance principles, and legal considerations.
The program offers a structured approach to managing uncertainty caused by environmental, technological, human, organizational, and political threats. This two-year (four-term) diploma program includes core business and major-specific courses. Students typically take five courses per term, but can maintain full-time status with at least three courses per term. While core courses are available in class and online, all major courses are offered in class, with some available online.
Flexible delivery options, including in-class, online, and blended formats are available.
Admission Requirements
- A passing grade in English Language Arts 30-1 or at least 65% in English Language Arts 30-2, or equivalent.
- A passing grade in Math 30-1 or Math 30-2, or equivalent.
- Alternatively, completion of the GED with a minimum score of 520 in both Language Arts: Reading and Writing and Math or meeting the Bow Valley College Admissions Test requirements.
- Completion of 30 credits from an accredited business program, with department approval.
