Holland College’s Tourism, Travel, and Event Management program is a dynamic two-year diploma designed to prepare students for careers in the fast-growing tourism and events industries. The program provides a broad foundation in tourism operations, travel trends, business strategies, and event organization. Taught by experienced industry professionals, students gain practical knowledge through real-world examples, hands-on projects, and access to current tools and techniques used in travel and event planning. After building core competencies in the first year, students choose a specialization in either Tourism and Travel Coordination or Event Coordination to align their studies with their career goals.
In the Tourism and Travel Coordinator stream, students explore travel agency operations, world cultures, and guiding practices—earning tour guide certification and creating live tours with classmates. Those in the Events Coordinator stream learn how to plan, promote, and manage events such as festivals, conventions, and trade shows. Students participate in industry events and gain practical experience by organizing and executing an event from start to finish. With its emphasis on both theory and hands-on learning, the program equips graduates with the confidence and skills needed to succeed in various sectors, from tourism marketing and travel agencies to corporate event planning and festival management.
