Accounting is the backbone of business operations, dealing with budgets, profit and loss, and financial planning. Prepare for a career by completing either a one-year certificate or a two-year diploma. Completion of the diploma prepares graduates to enter directly into Year 3 of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Sustainable Business Practices degree program at College of the Rockies or to transfer to a number of other certifications.

The Accounting program can be completed either full-time or part-time and is available both completely online and in-class. As with all Business Management programs, their Accounting program has a focus on sustainability, preparing students to be competitive in the changing business landscape.

Upon completion of the Accounting diploma, students are eligible to take advantage of block transfer agreements the College has with many other Canadian colleges and universities. Transfer is available to most Canadian post-secondary institutions on a case-by-case basis. Students can also enter directly into Year 3 of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Sustainable Business Practices degree program at College of the Rockies.

An accounting education opens up numerous career paths including working for auditing and accounting firms as well as for all types of businesses throughout the private and public sectors. Student’s accounting education is a starting point to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
