The University of New Brunswick’s Master of Education program is the province’s largest, offering six areas of concentration that students can choose from during their studies. Learners can choose from Adult Education, Counselling, Critical Studies, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Administration and Leadership, and Exceptional Learners, with all but Counselling being offered primarily online. Students are provided with a flexible learning structure thanks to the distanced learning options, and the majority of students are studying part-time as well.
Learners considering the Counselling option will be expected to attend classes at the Fredericton campus.
During students’ two years at UNB, they will have three program options for delivery, with a course option, project with report option, and thesis option available depending on their strengths and preferences.
Admission Requirements
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- At least one year of teaching experience.
- Background in specialized area of study.
