Lang’s Graduate Diploma in Accounting is a four-month program that provides students with advanced standing in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP). The CPA designation is Canada’s pre-eminent accounting and business credential. To obtain the CPA, students must complete the prerequisite education requirements, the CPA PEP, the Common Final Examination (CFE) and thirty months of qualifying practical experience.

Through this diploma, students will cover the core modules and elective modules in Assurance and Taxation of the CPA PEP, which will allow students to proceed to the CPA Capstone Modules One and Two. Upon successful completion of these modules, you will be eligible to write the CFE.

Admission Requirements

  • 4 year Undergraduate Degree.
  • Successful completion of completion of the required core CPA preparatory courses.

What You’ll Learn

  • Integrate and apply accounting knowledge and professional standards to problems in the field.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in two of four fields identified in the CPA elective modules: performance management, finance, assurance, or taxation.
  • Identify, select, and analyze accounting problems to propose evidence-based recommendations.
  • Develop an ethical and professional approach when working in an accounting context.
  • Communicate accounting analyses effectively to various stakeholders with reference to CPA standards, through well-written documents and presentations.

My experience in the MBA program at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business was very positive. I appreciated how the program connected business theory with practical examples, especially through case studies, group projects, and discussions. I developed stronger skills in leadership, strategic thinking, financial analysis, and decision-making, while also learning how different areas of a business work together. The program challenged me to think more critically and gave me a broader perspective that I can apply to my career.
