The Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) program at Eastern College prepares students for a rewarding career providing compassionate care to elderly and recovering clients. Students learn to support individuals with dignity, comfort, and empathy while gaining hands-on experience in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and in-home care settings. The program emphasizes practical training guided by experienced instructors, ensuring graduates are confident and capable in addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of those they serve. With a focus on real-world application, students develop essential skills that are in high demand within Nova Scotia’s growing healthcare sector.
Delivered in Halifax and developed in collaboration with the Health Association of Nova Scotia CCA Program Advisory Committee, the program meets and exceeds provincial standards for continuing care education. The instructors are absolutely wonderful to work with online. The address all concerns quickly and they help you to succeed.
What impressed me most was the school’s focus on practical application and critical thinking. They constantly encouraged us to step outside the theoretical and apply what we learned. It definitely shaped how I approach problem-solving now.
