Eastern College’s Early Childhood Education program prepares students for a rewarding career shaping the growth and development of young children. Recognized by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development as equivalent to a two-year diploma, the program provides a comprehensive foundation in child development, early learning psychology, and effective teaching methods across subjects such as math, science, music, health, and literature. Offered with flexible online learning and campus access in Saint John, Moncton, and Fredericton, students can gain expert instruction while balancing their personal and professional commitments.
The curriculum emphasizes critical areas such as observation and assessment, child abuse prevention, professional wellness, and family-centered partnerships, ensuring graduates are confident and prepared for the field. Students also receive practical experience through a 13-week internship, as well as certifications in First Aid and Infant and Child CPR. With training in Microsoft Office, curriculum development, positive child guidance, and digital literacy, graduates leave the program equipped with the knowledge, skills, and credentials needed to make a meaningful impact in early childhood education.

- Grade 12 or equivalent or meets criteria for Mature Student Status.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.

- Student must provide a complete standard Immunization Form.
