Modern Training Ontario’s class AZ (Tractor Trailer) program includes both classroom and practical training. The in-truck training takes place in the yard and on the road, one-on-one under the instruction of a qualified trainer. Students also engage in various classroom activities to help prepare for a career as a professional driver. All courses are offered on a manual, 13-speed transmission with late model tractors and a variety of trailer configurations with both empty and loaded trailers.

The 200-hour course that is fully registered and recognized program. The course takes approximately 7 weeks to complete consisting of 3 weeks of classroom training which includes the Ontario Air Brake Endorsement Course. All in-truck training in one-on-one with your instructor and includes 17 hours of yard and 50 hours of behind the wheel training. In-truck training sessions are broken into 3 or 4-hour training blocks.

Classes begin the first Monday of every month.

Admission Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Ontario class “G” License.
  • Drivers Abstract – No more than 30 days old.
  • Proof of grade 10 English or students must pass a qualifying test that has been approved by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities Superintendent.
  • Ministry of Transportation Medical Report (Submitted to Drive Test).
  • Ministry of Transportation class “A” Written Knowledge Exam”.
