Mohawk College’s Animation program offers a comprehensive education in both 2D and 3D animation, focusing on performance animation, visual communication, and filmic storytelling. Students will develop foundational skills in concept generation, composition, character development, and animation techniques. The program combines hands-on experiences with progressive projects and collaborative learning, allowing students to master both traditional drawing and digital processes, including modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, and animating using industry-standard software.
Through a blend of pre-production and production skills, students will create compelling stories and characters, learning to plan, design, and execute animation projects from start to finish. The curriculum covers essential techniques in writing, figure drawing, storyboarding, CG prop creation, and scene composition. With guidance from industry professionals, students also gain transferable skills in entertainment, gaming, virtual reality (VR), and other sectors, preparing them for success in the dynamic animation industry.
