Okanagan College’s Pharmacy Technician Certificate program provides students with the practical and theoretical training needed to support pharmacists in both community and hospital settings. The program emphasizes the technical and clerical responsibilities of the role, equipping students with skills in prescription preparation, inventory management, pharmaceutical calculations, and sterile product handling. Students also gain a solid understanding of pharmacy law, professional ethics, and the collaborative relationship between pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Learning is delivered through a combination of classroom theory, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, ensuring students are prepared for real-world scenarios. Courses cover a wide range of essential topics including pharmacology, communication, compounding, and pharmacy procedures.
