The Bachelor of Design is a four-year degree in visual design, complemented by courses in entrepreneurship, marketing, and management. This program ensures graduates possess both creative and visual skills and a solid understanding of business strategy, enabling them to develop design solutions for evolving market demands. Conestoga’s Bachelor of Design is unique in Ontario, offering an inter-professional approach that combines visual design, entrepreneurship, and liberal studies, along with co-op opportunities, advanced studio spaces, and access to cutting-edge technology.
With limited enrollment and small class sizes, students benefit from direct interaction with faculty members experienced in visual design and business development. The comprehensive curriculum includes typography, visual design, colour theory, drawing, illustration, photography, interactive design, and business-focused courses in branding, marketing, management, writing, and presentation. A project-based learning approach addresses key issues such as accessibility, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility, ensuring students are prepared for the diverse challenges of the design industry.
