Université du Québec à Rimouski’s Master of Social Work program is designed for graduates seeking to deepen their professional practice and strengthen their ability to support vulnerable populations. The program focuses on advancing knowledge of complex social issues and preparing students to respond effectively to the evolving challenges within health and social service systems. Through an approach grounded in critical analysis, reflective practice, and innovation, students learn to design, implement, and evaluate intervention strategies that promote meaningful and lasting change in diverse practice settings.

The program combines advanced academic learning with supervised professional experience, allowing students to apply specialized skills directly within intervention environments. A major component of the degree includes a professional internship, followed by the completion of an internship report and essay that encourage integration of theory and practice. Courses are delivered in a flexible blended format, combining in-person and videoconference learning between the Rimouski and Lévis campuses, with intensive weekend scheduling that supports work-study balance. Graduates leave prepared to take on leadership roles in social work practice while contributing thoughtfully and effectively to the well-being of individuals and communities.
