Train in Post Production and have the chance to work on actual film projects and Hollywood movies. Learn advanced processes for this highly specialized field including: advanced video editing, audio mixing, ADR and colour grading. Canadore offers several opportunities for experiential learning through industry partners and movies and television series being filmed in the local region. Graduates of this one-year certificate program can go on to work in a number of areas including film, video production and television, to name a few.
What You’ll Learn
- Manage post-production project goals, constraints, deliverables, and resource requirements in a post production workflow to ensure product quality.
- Prepare content (dailies) for director review and discussion using specific technical processes.
- Edit video footage using various processes and technologies, such as colour grading and online editing, according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Design and record sound and edit audio using various processes and methods such as closed captioning, descriptive video, automated dialogue replacement (ADR) and stem mixing for various genres of productions.
- Manage post-production teams and facilitate communication and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure successful completion of post-production projects.
- Perform industry standard final mix of a production.
- Create technically competent packaging such as, layback and Digital Cinema Package (DCP), appropriate for industry acceptance/sign-off.
- Apply entrepreneurial strategies relevant within the field of post-production to develop a viable business plan for freelance post-production design professionals.
- Develop, implement and evaluate strategies to establish and maintain professional networking and business relationships in the post-production industry.
- Use technical instrumentation to implement a variety of delivery formats (example: stereo to Dolby Atmos) and achieve quality output, in accordance with client and industry expectation.
- Adhere to legal principles, government legislation and regulations, copyright laws, contract and national and international broadcast delivery requirements, and professional and industry codes of conduct and standards.
