The Young Drivers of Canada Course is a beginner driver education course available in select provinces. Aimed at helping new drivers learn the skills needed to successfully pass their driver’s test and stay safe on the roads for a lifetime.

This program has two components: a virtual with live teacher learning and in-car lessons.

Driving lessons are conducted in-person, with a highly trained driving instructor. All in-car lessons are one instructor to one student.

The online learning modules are designed to help new drivers think like experienced drivers able to identify the problems and solutions needed to avoid each type of collision. It’s a way of thinking, presented through animations, text, images and videos that will become habitual over the course of this program.

The driving lessons are private, one-on-one in-car lessons provided by provincially approved, annually re-certified instructors. Throughout the course, each student will learn how collisions happen and how to prevent them.

Tuition includes MTO approved zoom course, class with instructor, and the road test package with YD vehicle.

What You’ll Learn

  • Risk perception.
  • Gravel shoulder recovery.
  • Threshold/ABS braking.
  • Rear-crash avoidance.
  • Head-on collision avoidance.
  • Emergency braking.
  • Brake and avoid techniques.
  • Swerving techniques.
  • Freeway driving.

Dates and times vary depending on location.  New classes starting weekly.

I wouldn't recommend ANYONE sign up with Young Drivers. Their customer service sucks (like no intelligent responses), their automated ai phone system keeps disconnecting, you can NEVER speak to a manager should something go wrong. Thie videos are too slow and long. it is impossible to find all the information you need on their website e.g. their student scheduling or cancellation policy. And should you come down with the stomach flu suddenly, you better just throw up in your instuctor's car on the hwy instead of the cancelling the night before or you could be slammed with a $333 cancellation automated charge.

My wife needed a refresher lesson before retaking her driving test due to her age and medical condition, No fault of the instructor but he was so old, spoke in a very low tone and was very hard to understand. He was also coughing all the time. I can't imagine how a young novice driver would be able to learn much from him.
The first thing he said as he struggled to get out of the car was 'I just picked this car up and am just getting used to where the controls are'. He then said he had to go and get gas which cut into her lesson time. The car he had looked to be very old and past it's due date.
I have used this company before to teach my kids and was very happy with them then but this time I was deeply disappointed.
