This two-year program aims to train graduate welding technicians. The student develops the technical skills to perform various types of welding. Throughout the stages, the student obtains various certifications from the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB).
The graduate of the Welding Techniques program will be able to use equipment to weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals. He may work in companies that manufacture structural steel and sheet metal elements, boilers, heavy machinery, airplanes or boats and other metal products as well as for welding contractors and in welding shops, or he could also be self-employed.
The training has been designed to properly prepare the graduate for the needs of the job market and is focused on precision and practice.
If you do not have any experience or knowledge in the field of welding, this program is an excellent quick preparation to increase your chances of employability and to be sponsored by an employer as an apprentice to start the apprenticeship program of the ‘Ontario, whose goal will be to become a certified journeyman welder in Ontario.
The trade of welder is classified as “optional”. However, a Professional Qualification Certificate would confirm that your expertise is recognized by the industry and promote your salary situation.
