The Residential Real Estate as a Professional Career course is administered on behalf of the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission (SREC). The course provides part of the registration education requirements for those who wish to become a licensed registrant as a salesperson in Saskatchewan.

This blended learning course allows students to register at any time. While the course is flexible in order to meet the needs of busy adult learners, students will need to keep in mind the requirement to complete all courses and exams within two years of registration in the Phase 1 course. Students must complete the Phase 1 and Phase 2 course in their chosen stream and become registered with a brokerage within two years of initial registration. Regularly scheduled exams take place at various times throughout the year throughout the province (exams must be written in Canada) with the written examination registration included with the course tuition fee.

Admission Requirements

  • Phase 1 – Real Estate as a Professional Career.

What You’ll Learn

  • Understand the residential listing process, including prospecting, listing, and marketing properties.
  • Learn to classify residential homes by type and style, and apply accurate measurement techniques for area and volume.

My first year at UBC Sauder was a unique and eye-opening experience. The school attracts highly driven students who are ambitious and goal-oriented, which creates a fast-paced and focused academic environment. There’s a strong culture of professionalism—people often dress in business casual, which really sets the tone for preparing students for the corporate world. What stood out most to me were the professors. Sauder has some truly outstanding first-year faculty who are passionate about teaching and committed to creating a more inclusive and thoughtful learning environment. I especially appreciated how classes focused not just on content, but on teaching us how to think differently and spot opportunities in the business world.

Choosing UBC Sauder was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The program combines academic excellence with real-world experience through consulting projects and case studies. I appreciated learning from professors with actual industry backgrounds—they made the material engaging and practical. The collaborative, diverse environment helped me grow both personally and professionally, and the career support was incredibly helpful, especially as I looked to work in Canada. Sauder’s focus on responsible leadership and global perspective really aligned with my values.
