University of Regina Bachelor of Social Work students graduate with a comprehensive generalist social work education designed to prepare professionals for a wide range of human service careers. As part of Saskatchewan’s only Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) accredited Bachelor of Social Work program, learners develop a strong foundation in advocacy, social justice, diversity, inclusion, and community-centered practice. Their academic training focused on supporting individuals, families, and communities in realizing their full potential both within Canada and internationally.
Through small class instruction, faculty mentorship, and 700 hours of supervised hands-on field experience, students gain practical skills in analyzing social programs and policies, developing and administering human service programs, conducting research and program evaluation, and addressing complex social challenges through effective intervention strategies. Their education emphasized empowering vulnerable populations, promoting health and wellness, and applying evidence-based social work approaches with compassion, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
