Social Service Worker

This two-year Social Service Worker diploma program prepares students to support individuals, families, and communities facing life’s challenges through an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens. The evidence-based curriculum explores current social issues and systemic barriers such as colonialism, racism, and discrimination, while helping students build the strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills needed to engage clients in culturally responsive, person-centered ways.

Students benefit from hands-on, experiential learning through collaborative coursework, professional labs, and a 15-week supervised field placement in a community or social service agency. The program emphasizes equity, social justice, and inclusive practice, equipping graduates to work effectively in diverse settings and advocate for meaningful change across the social service sector.

Admission Requirements

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Grade 12 English, minimum 60 percent.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, web search engines, and email systems.
