Concordia University’s AutoCAD 2 course builds on foundational skills to provide a comprehensive introduction to 3D modeling using AutoCAD. The program covers essential industry concepts such as 3D construction, coordinate systems, wireframe and solid modeling, surface meshes, and polygonal geometry. Students gain hands-on experience creating and manipulating 3D CAD models, learning techniques necessary for producing accurate designs and drawings used in manufacturing and engineering applications. By mastering these professional-level skills, participants develop the ability to translate complex design ideas into functional 3D models.
The course is designed for learners who want to advance their CAD expertise, including students pursuing careers in engineering, architecture, manufacturing, 3D printing, and related design fields. It also benefits engineering undergraduates and graduates, CEGEP students preparing for further study, and professional staff or engineers looking to update their design techniques. Graduates of the course leave with practical knowledge and the confidence to apply 3D modeling tools in real-world projects, making them well-prepared for roles that require precision and technical proficiency in CAD.

I am currently in Concordia University’s Civil Engineering program. My experience has been solid so far. The courses are challenging but well-structured, and the professors are approachable. I’ve enjoyed the hands-on labs and group projects, which help connect theory to real-world engineering problems.
Some workload can be intense, especially during midterms and finals, but overall the program is preparing me well for a future in engineering. It’s demanding, but worth it if you’re passionate about civil infrastructure and design.
