Social Service Worker

Confederation College’s Social Service Worker program prepares students to make a meaningful impact in their communities by supporting individuals across all stages of life. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on field placements to help students develop the practical knowledge and professional skills needed for careers in social services.

Students build competencies in areas such as mental health, addictions, communication, social welfare, and applied practice while gaining real-world experience in community settings. The program also provides opportunities to work with diverse populations, develop an understanding of community resources, and prepare for eligibility to register with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. An accelerated pathway is available for applicants with a related diploma or degree.

Admission Requirements

• Ontario Secondary School diploma, or equivalent.
• Minimum of Grade 12 English.
