Durham College’s Honours Bachelor program in Community Mental Health is designed for graduates who already hold an Ontario College Diploma in Social Service Work.
With a combination of theoretical research and applied courses, students will be prepared for a mandatory 14-week, 420-hour experiential work placement. There, learners will navigate the workplace, help others in their community, while learning about case management, crisis counselling, mental health promotion, addictions counselling, housing, and advocacy consultancy.
Upon completion, graduates will be ready to work as a family or marriage counsellor, case manager, addictions counsellor, or residential youth worker, among many other potential career paths.
Admission Requirements
- Ontario College Diploma in Social Service Worker with a minimum average of 60 percent.
