Eastern College’s Pharmacy Technician Bridging program offers experienced pharmacy assistants a flexible, part-time pathway to advance their careers and work toward becoming Registered Pharmacy Technicians. Delivered entirely online, the program combines weekly virtual instruction with practical, workplace-based training to ensure students gain the essential hands-on skills required in today’s pharmacy environments. As demand for healthcare professionals continues to rise across Canada, Pharmacy Technicians play an increasingly vital role in safe and effective medication delivery while working closely with pharmacists to support high-quality patient care.
With only three hours of weekly instruction, the program allows students to balance work and study while progressing toward licensure in provinces that recognize Bridging as an approved pathway, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Coursework covers key areas such as professional practice, pharmacology, product preparation, and the management of drug distribution systems. Graduates will have met the academic requirements needed to pursue licensure as Pharmacy Technicians in the eligible provinces.

The instructors are absolutely wonderful to work with online. The address all concerns quickly and they help you to succeed.
What impressed me most was the school’s focus on practical application and critical thinking. They constantly encouraged us to step outside the theoretical and apply what we learned. It definitely shaped how I approach problem-solving now.
