Humber’s Film and Television Production program (FMTV) is a hands-on production training program. For more than fifty years, this program has been training students in a wide variety of film and TV production techniques encompassing all production stages – from development to delivery. Humber offers a learn-by-doing system where professors guide and mentor students in the art of visual storytelling, employing industry standard practices while embracing innovations in an ever-evolving media landscape.

In the Film and Television Production program, students will fine tune film and TV production abilities using industry-standard production equipment in large, well-equipped studios and state-of-the-art video and audio editing suites. Learners will gain valuable experience in every aspect of production including scriptwriting, cinematography, direction as well as post-production, distribution and exhibition. Students will complete their education with training in business and marketing, opportunities to connect with industry professionals, and a final-semester field experience.

Work-Integrated Learning courses serve as the vital link between academic learning and real-world application. Within this framework, students actively participate in the Professional Practice course, equipping them with the necessary skills and confidence to secure their own field experience. Throughout this journey, a dedicated career & work-integrated learning advisor offers personalized guidance and support. In Semester six, students immerse themselves in the Field Experience course, committing 140 hours of practical application within the field.
