The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) offers the Broker Essentials in Commercial Insurance Certificate Program, an on-demand e-learning course designed to help personal lines brokers transition into commercial lines. The program combines foundational knowledge with practical applications, featuring insights from some of Ontario’s top commercial lines brokers. Their expert advice helps bridge the gap between theory and real-world execution.

To earn the certificate, participants must complete all seven modules, which can be taken in any order.

Admission Requirements

  • Be a personal lines broker looking to transition into commercial lines.
  • Have a foundational understanding of personal lines insurance.
  • Be employed at a brokerage or working in the insurance industry.
  • Have an interest in expanding knowledge of commercial insurance products and processes.
